Located in the main Street Michael McAssey opened his shop in 1985.
It was a butcher’s shop previously in the name of Pat Nolan and was part
of the adjacent shop (Previously Buggy’s).
Before that it was the village post office owned and run by Jim & Lizy Casey.
Prior to that owned by Mrs. Casey’s father, Jimmy Doran.
Michael knows all his customers by name and also knows the car they drive.
His reputation is such that a local customer who moved to Dublin
still travels to Ballon to buy her meat.
